VEHICLE ENGINEER

We are looking to recruit Vehicle Engineers at our Westbourne Park Bus Garage. 

Successful candidates must have excellent core skills that are relevant to their trade and will also have detailed vehicle maintenance knowledge. The knowledge and experience would have been ideally gained through extensive working experience of commercial or passenger carrying vehicles. A time-served apprenticeship and appropriate qualifications, such as an NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds level 3 is desirable. The successful candidates should be able to demonstrate good team building skills and must hold a full, clean driving licence (holding a PCV licence would be a distinct advantage). 

The weekly pay for the role is £593.78 based on a 39 hour week, plus shift premiums if applicable.  There may be the opportunity to work some overtime and there will also be the requirement to work both the early and the late shift rota that will include some weekends.

GROUP ACCOUNTANT

A number of recent corporate acquisitions mean we now employ almost 2000 people across 5 different sites and on top of that we are looking at opportunities in Singapore. The business continues to grow and as a result we are now looking to recruit a Group Accountant, to join the London based Finance Team. We are looking for a recently qualified accountancy professional (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) with an excellent academic record that has either experience of working at a group level or of auditing groups in the mid-cap space. The specific areas of responsibility will include group consolidation, period end reporting, budgeting, balance sheet reconciliations and assisting in the production of statutory accounts. There will also be involvement in group cash flow forecasting, group internal controls streamlining and while not a prerequisite, experience of labour intensive businesses, and both acquisition and derivative accounting would be a distinct advantage. There will be opportunity to work on due diligence projects and develop your skills alongside highly accomplished operational and financial teams.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a ‘can do’ attitude who wants to work in a forward thinking business – we are already reporting under FRS102! You will have knowledge of either International Financial Reporting Standards or FRS102 and have superior excel skills. Our successful candidate will be a team player who is used to dealing with staff at all levels within an organization, is flexible and adaptable to the changing organisational needs and like others in the rest of the business, punch well above their weight.

The salary will be £48,000 per annum plus a travel pass for use on the London Bus and Underground network plus 25 days holiday.

IN-HOUSE LEGAL COUNSEL

The business continues to grow and we are now looking for an In-House Legal Advisor/Counsel to join the Executive Team based in London. You will be an enthusiastic professional who is able to provide legal advice across a number of key areas. The specific areas of knowledge include Union Relations, Employment Law, Contract Law, particularly in relation to our contract with our primary customer, suppliers of goods and services and commercial property law. Specific experience of drafting and negotiation of sales and or procurement contracts would be an advantage. It would also assist if you had a financial understanding together with commercial awareness. The role will be varied and interesting and provide you with the opportunity to deal with both different aspects of law and of business operation.

We appreciate that you may not be an expert in all areas but you must demonstrate you are resourceful and able to research solutions to challenges. If you have a good understanding of the law then it is anticipated that you will be able to conduct research that will assist you in providing advice that is balanced and appropriate considering the potential risks. The ability to network and build a structure of external support will be essential.

You will be responsible for managing the acquisition of any necessary external legal and corporate advice at all times ensuring value and service. You must be able to demonstrate that you are a strong team player with the ability to work independently whilst supporting a variety of different functional teams.

We are looking for an articulate and attentive commercial lawyer with a broad background covering most areas of commercial law. Salary will be a minimum of £75,000 pa, although more may be available for an exceptional candidate, plus access to a Company Pension Scheme.

PANEL PERFORMANCE MANAGER

We are now looking for a Panel Performance Manager, to provide cover across all three London locations. This is a management role and it may be that you will have to work unsocial hours and occasional weekends to fulfill your duties. As a Panel Performance Manager you may be used to cover for full time staff when they are on holiday or absent. Whilst covering the position you will be paid the appropriate rate for the grade, when not covering you will remain in your current role.

Your role whilst covering will be to ensure the company achieve exceptional service performance on both high and low frequency routes, meeting or bettering QSI targets and therefore delivering QICs 1 bonus. You will need to ensure that the depot run out and run in are conducted safely in accordance with procedures. Additionally you will have to manage and ensure that the Roadside Controllers and Radio Controllers carry out their duties efficiently and in accordance with the Depot’s safe systems of work maintaining a visible and pro active management approach. You will need to begin to build strong working relationships with colleagues to ensure that there is a consistent team approach to achieving the required performance to ensure that Tower Transit Operations Limited maintain and builds upon its position within the London Bus market. Finally it is important to ensure that vehicle cleanliness and vehicle and driver presentation standards meet the requirements of TfL (in particular QIC’s 2). It is essential that are able to demonstrate you can meet and achieve targets, some experience of managing people is required but most importantly you must be a strong communicator both written and verbal as you will need to deal with staff across all levels of the business. It is important that you have a strong and solid knowledge of the QICS target regime and understand the performance results.

PANEL OPERATIONS SUPPORT CO-ORDINATOR

Closing Date: 30 January 2015

We are now looking for Panel Operations Support Coordinators (OSCs), to cover primarily at Lea Interchange but you may also be asked to work in West London.  This is a shift role covering 24/7 on a 40 hour per week contract. As a Panel OSC you may be used to cover for full time staff when they are on holiday or absent. Whilst covering the position you will be paid the appropriate rate for the grade, when not covering you will remain in your current role.

Some of the primary areas of responsibility will include being responsible for managing the allocation of duty cards and passing relevant information to Drivers to ensure they leave the depot on time to commence in service. You will also be responsible for the prompt allocation of duty (including cards and vehicles) to ensure that drivers are ready to leave on time, record any issues of lateness and reasons for delay in service and if any mileage is subsequently lost. You will be the primary interface between the company and all Drivers it is essential that you build good strong relationships with all drivers so you can influence and discuss uniform standards, drive green, log card completion issues and any other driver related matters. You will have to demonstrate you are a strong communicator able to talk to all staff and able to ensure a full and effective hand over and coordination of tasks across shifts. You will additionally be required to undertake Yard duties and complete any relevant administration duties, during time on the allocation counter.

It is essential that you are PC literate and able to use word and excel, knowledge of the GUI Allocation system would be an advantage. Organisation skills are essential as you will need to undertake a variety of different tasks. Your key performance measures will include Driver efficiencies and costs as well as mileage, uniform and Driver presentation standards.
