Safety is our key priority – it is the context in which we operate and is part of Tower Transit’s DNA.

Tower Transit London has a comprehensive safety management system, ISO 45001 certified, that runs through the business, from front line workers to top management. Top executives and key managers meet monthly at the Safety Performance Group to review performance and identify issues and practical actions.

Tower Transit’s range of safety initiatives is constantly reviewed, and is a key factor in maintaining and improving our safety performance standards.

These include:

  • Thorough Investigations – Tower Transit investigates all accidents, incidents, and safety complaints thoroughly, and actions identified are monitored through to conclusion.
  • A programme of staff communication campaigns that raise awareness of a wide-range of issues from safety to customer service.
  • Video “safety shorts” – Tower Transit was successful in bidding for TfL’s Bus Safety Innovation Fund, and has produced a range of short punchy videos to deliver key messages to front line workers through mobile apps and direct video links.

We actively support the Mayor of London’s Vision Zero plan, and we aim to continually reduce safety incidents and accidents throughout our operations. We have a particular focus on vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians, and every serious incident is reviewed by senior management.

COVID Risk Assessment – in line with Government guidance Tower Transit has completed a COVID-19 Secure risk assessment.
